The Update
It's true! Over 700 books have been shipped to Africa! Over 300 books have already arrived (in perfect condition)! We've even raised enough money to purchase a 2004 World Book Encyclopedia set, library supplies like posters, bookmarks, etc. to augment a large donation from the American Library Association and a globe to replace the deflated inflatable the kids have been using for ages!

Jane says the kids are "jumping out of their skin" with excitement. They keep asking to touch the covers of the books, and they say, "Beautiful! Beautiful!" in Afrikaans. Even though the books won't be on the shelves until Jane completes cataloguing them all by hand, attendance in the library has already reached new highs. The kids and the faculty are very, very excited.

Want a sneak peak at the library and the kids? Jane took some pictures!

More books are likely to arrive this week. We'll keep you posted!

Bright idea: Not ordering through Amazon? Sending used books? Be sure to drop us a line and let us know how many books you've donated so we can keep track!
