Fur Follies | Big Brush Off | Mark It | The Prize

The Big Brush-Off
Hair is going to fall, so make sure it happens where you want it to - like outside where it can float gently down the street and maybe become part of a nice bird nest.

Brushes can go a long way toward eliminating some of the hair your pet generates. Different brushes do different tricks. Use them all outside your house.
  • A Shedding Tool is a serrated bend of wire that works best on dogs and cats with long hair. Working in the direction of your pet's fur growth, drag the serrated edge through. Bear down hard enough to catch the fur but be careful of your pet's skin!
  • A rubber Curry Comb is a great alternative for dogs and cats with shorter, sleeker coats. A curry comb looks almost like an oval bar of soap, and the edge of the underside is cut in a zig-zag pattern to grip hair. I've never met a dog who didn't love a curry comb treatment - basically a canine massage!
  • If your dog or cat grows a fluffy undercoat during the winter, invest in an Undercoat Rake. It looks just like a miniature metallic rake and it does a great job pulling out big clumps of hair. Go easy with the pressure so the tines of the rake don't scratch poor Fifi's delicate skin.
