Let There Be Light
by Scott Acord

Intro | Preparation | Electrical | Switch | Diagram

Electrical
  1. Run your electrical cord through the spine of the book, bottom to top.
  2. Next, run the cord through the hollow threaded rod and base of light socket, in that order.
  3. Attach the wire to the socket. To do this, loosen the screws on both sides of the socket and wrap the exposed wires around each of screws.
  4. Tighten the screws.
  5. Attach the base of the socket. See Diagram
If you need to strip the wire
Most cords will come stripped, but just in case… Split the cord with the X-acto knife giving yourself some room to work (about 1 ½" should be sufficient). Next cut around the protective plastic about ½" from the end - careful not to cut into the wire. Carefully pull off the end of the plastic revealing a bare wire.
