Nothing, Nothing On My Walls
Mine's the most boring apartment of all
by Scott Acord

Bottled Up | Can It | String 'em Up

Blank walls may be fine for a Buddhist monastery, but your apartment? No way! If your place suffers from bare wall syndrome and your wallet makes a monk look rich, this is the project for you. Fill 'em up with about a buck.

All Bottled Up
You take pictures to remember the moment - so display them! Hang onto those clear glass bottles. You know the ones from sodas, store bought Frappacinos, olive oil, salad dressing and the like? The make perfect frames for those photos of friends, family members and vacations of long ago that sit in a box deep in your closet.

What You'll Need:
    Empty clear glass bottles
Dish soap, water and a sink
    Chopstick or pencil
    Scissors
    Photos

  1. Wash thoroughly inside and out.
  2. To remove paper and glue rub the bottles with dish soap let them soak in a sink of water until the glue easily separates from bottle. I like to let them sit over night for total ease of cleaning. But an hour could work. If the glue is really sticky, try using a hair dryer and rubbing alcohol.
  3. Let bottles dry completely on the inside or the condensation will ruin your pictures.
  4. Gently roll up photo and slide it into the bottle. You may need to use a chopstick to help unroll and push the photo in place. If the photo is too large for a bottle you might need to trim it a bit to make it fit. Or get a bigger bottle?
Prominently display your new collection of bottled photos. Your friends will think you're an artistic genius -- as long as you've included them in the pack.

Bright Idea: If you're short on shelf space, try hanging your bottles from the ceiling or on your wall with string or wire.
