Cutting & Staining
Have the lumberyard cut down an 8’ x 4’ x 1/8” piece
of plywood down to 80”x36” and then cut it once more into
80”x4” strips. It will cost you a nominal fee to have the
lumberyard cut it for you but it is well worth it.
Lay out all the 80” x 4” pieces onto newspaper and stain
the topsides of all pieces. Let dry then stain the backsides.
Stain the poles, too, but make sure you stand them on end; otherwise,
you’ll ruin the stain with newsprint.
Once everything is stained and dry, you can begin the assembling
process.
