It's A Spring Thing, Almost
by Tana March

Intro | Sitting Pretty | Viva Las Flores | The Mojito

Viva Las Flores
Arranged in a vase or embellishing the bushes, these colorful paper flowers will take you back to your youth when you could enjoy the trees without the wheeze.

What you'll need:

    Tissue paper, lots of colors
    Compass and pencil
    Scissors
    Floral wire
  1. Use a compass and pencil to draw several 8" to 12" diameter circles onto the tissue paper. No compass? Try a plate.
  2. Cut the circles out.
  3. Stack four equal sized circles on top of each other alternating colors.
  4. Use floral stakes or cut a piece of wire around 18" in length and make a small loop at one end. Poke the other end through the center of the stack, careful not to tear the tissue. Yea, a stem.
  5. Hold the flower upside down by the stem and gently gather the paper around the loop. The base.
  6. Hang onto the base and wrap the wire around tightly a few times to secure.
  7. Carefully separate the layers of tissue and fluff!

    Bright Ideas:
    • Put the petal to the metal! Use pinking sheers or other die cut scissors to lend a fancy finish to your flowers.
    • Use fabric instead of paper and pin them in your hair or clip them onto a plain pair of flip-flops.
