Banana Bread | Smoothies | Cosmetics | Breakfast | Chutney

Something exotic?
You may not have all the ingredients for this one just lying around the house. But the inevitable Carmen Miranda sing-a-long will make the trip to the store more than worth it.

Banana Chutney
1 pound Spanish onions
1/2 pound chopped dates
6 riced bananas
1-1/2 cups vinegar
1/4 pound crystallized ginger, chopped
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon curry powder
1/2 pound seeded raisins
2 cups syrup from any canned fruit
  1. Mix chopped onions, dates, bananas, and vinegar; simmer for 20 minutes.
  2. Add ginger, salt, curry powder, raisins, and fruit syrup.
  3. Cook until thick.
  4. Pour into clean hot jars, and seal them.
Makes 4 pints. Use however you use regular chutney! Makes a lovely gift!
