At big meals, try to fill your plate with less than you think you can eat. If you're still hungry you can always go for seconds, but when you load up with deliciousness from the beginning it's hard to let any go down the drain.
Booze Glorious Booze
Alcohol and other cheerful beverages like eggnog and coco are laden with extra calories. Partake by all means! But try skipping a turn. Instead of going for the punchbowl or bar for each refill, take a breather and choose something lighter like water, seltzer, or a Diet Coke. Just every other drink will lighten the load on your waistline…and behind the wheel.
