Pan De Muerto
No Day of the Dead feast is complete without traditional pan de muerto,
or bread of the dead. It is a sweet bread that represents the souls
of the deceased. The spirits “consume” the bread on Day
of the Dead (earning its name soul food) as a way to confirm their
existence on this one night.
The bread can be molded into different shapes. The most popular ones
are round or elaborate skulls, animals, or angels. Sometimes, the baker
includes a toy skeleton. Tradition says that the one who bites into it
will have good luck.
Courtesy of Lola, who submitted a pan de muerto recipe to www.Allrecipes.com,

bread baking to perfection in your lovely abode, who needs aroma candles
