Breaking Bread Down
By Carra Gamberdella
Intro | Too Good To Be True? | Bake It | Spread It

Get Your Bake On
You don’t “knead” to be Julia Child to whip up a tasty loaf. In fact, it’s okay if you have little to no culinary talent. If you can find your way to a kitchen stocked with the necessary supplies and ingredients, half of the bread baking battle has been won.

What are the necessary supplies? First off, you need a 4½ “ 8½ “ loaf pan. There’s no getting around that.

What else you'll need:

    Measuring spoons
    A measuring cup
    Bowl
    Mixing spoon

Clean dishtowels and a surface for kneading dough are also vital.

White Bread Is Basic
There are many websites that offer simple recipes. My favorite is here. This recipe will make two loaves, so if you’re not that hungry make sure to cut it in half.

Corn Bread
A little fancier, but worth the trouble. Check out this traditional southern recipe. You’ll need a heavy iron skillet for this recipe. If you don’t have one, use the heaviest square-baking pan you can find.

Veggie Heaven
If you’re craving something sweeter, try this recipe for zucchini bread. Simple, delicious, and perfect for autumn!

Banana Bread
Another sweet favorite. And what else can you do with those overripe bananas? Try this easy-to-follow recipe or Tana's Grandma's recipe. It's yummy.
