Indian Ch-ch-chai

What you’ll need:

1 14-ounce can sweetened condensed milk
3/4 teaspoon cardamom
1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon cloves
1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
1/4 teaspoon ground allspice
A couple shakes of ground black pepper
1/8 teaspoon ground ginger
1 cinnamon stick
Good-quality black tea

  1. Mix together all of the dry spices (except the cinnamon stick).
  2. Stir them into the sweetened condensed milk and pour it all into a jar.
  3. Add in the cinnamon stick.
  4. Refrigerate the mixture at least overnight, though the longer it stays in, the more time the spices have to properly infuse with the milk.

When ready to take your first test sip, make a strong cup of black tea and stir in about 2 teaspoons of the chai mixture. Store the jar of chai mix in the refrigerator. It will stay good for two to three weeks.
