Respectfully Yours
Why being politically correct is wrong.

Group Therapy
But, you say, groups of people from specific ethnic or religious backgrounds do act as one. How about the Blacks who rioted in Los Angeles following the Rodney King verdict? Well, how about the far larger group who didn't despite the highly suspect verdict? Or how about the group of Whites that committed genocide against Native Americans and imposed slavery on another group? And those acts were well-orchestrated public policy.

"Oh, Emil, that was over a hundred years ago and besides, I didn't kill or enslave anybody." To which, I say, correct. You are not responsible for acts committed by any group of individuals of which you were not a part. So why is it some people love to expound on their individuality, yet deny the presumption of individuality to people of backgrounds different from their own?

Some Of My Best Friends…
Don't go there. Having friends from a different background is not an inoculation against bigotry (And by the way, being a bigot doesn't make someone a bad person, just an ignorant one).

Liking, even loving someone has nothing to do with bigotry, or the lack thereof.
