Still, you're bound to meet someone in your forum wanderings who's eager to unload unpleasantries. Web culture calls these people "flamers," and when you encounter one your only recourse is to alert the forum administrator and move on. Don't clutter the forum with a retort, no matter how witty; just ignore the rude comments.

Keep it Real
The easiest rule to remember is to adhere to the same standards of behavior in a forum as you would in, say, a public library or a grocery store. Play nice. Be respectful. And if there's something you don't think you would say to someone's face, then don't say it in a forum.
