With the season of giving upon
us, it might be helpful to get a refresher course on the etiquette of
gift giving. It is just as easy to give a good gift as a bad gift, and
I am a firm believer that if you can't give a good one, don't give one
at all. I find immense pleasure in buying (or making) presents for the
people I care about. I love the thrill of tracking down "the perfect
gift" and watching someone's genuine (as opposed to forced) exclamation
of pleasure after they tear open the wrapping paper and realize that
you know who they are. Many of us, however, seem to find the whole process
on par with a root canal and put it off as long as possible. The following
tips are designed to help you do it properly, even if you can't bring
yourself to enjoy it.
