The average American worker
will hold eight to ten different jobs during his or her employment lifetime.
Also, the greatest turnover happens before the worker reaches the age
of 30. One must climb the corporate ladder or use some stepping stones
to gain that coveted career.
As we gain experience, we also helm contacts. Both are equally important.
Some in the business world get by on who, rather than what, they know.
You have to also go with the flow.
How? While moving from job to job, keep those contacts fresh. This is
a matter of parting with your current employer on good standards and
staying in touch. If you leave on a negative basis, you might as well
chalk that contact off your resume. Employers (especially large corporations)
are very strident on recommendations. You must make a clean break. |
