Techies
You used to Yahoo!, then you
were at the top with Alta Vista, but just after you stopped asking Jeeves
you started to google it. If
you’ve got a computer and searched for something on the web, you’ve
likely googled it by using Google’s search engine. Google’s
success is akin to the likes of Q-Tips (cotton swabs) or Kleenex (facial
tissue). Somehow, all the other search engines have gotten the cold shoulder
and the way to search the net is to Google!
Even if you don’t work in the high-tech field, you most likely
have or know someone that loves gadgets--PDAs, MP3s, PS2. It seems that
these techie items have become mainstreamed, so it’s time to pay
attention to the buzz. Or maybe it’s time to start blogging your
own buzz?
If you've found yourself surrounded by a large group of strangers bursting
into applause or other strange activities, if only for an instant, you
may have experienced a flash mob. Part performance art, part
anarchism, the
phenomenon has caught the attention of the media, advertisers, and
security officials as well as the ultra-wired around the country.
