A Pair of Jeans with Shreds and Patches of Ballads, Songs and Storied Snatches

Here's a great fix for high water horrors or outgrown kids clothes. Or you can finally find a use for all the, um, lovely bridesmaids dresses you'll never wear again.

  1. Trim a pair of straight legs below the knee.

  2. Cut two or three strips of fabric to the same width as your pants leg + 1 inch for seam allowance. Use Chinese silk, velvet, or any other fabric you've got hanging around.

  3. Stitch the two fabrics together, one above the other, and sew to the bottom of the pants.

  4. Cover the seam with your complementary ribbon.

  5. Additives: beads, novelty buttons or embroidery.

Bright Idea #1: Pre shrink any cloth you'll want to throw in the wash. It'd be such a bummer for all your hard work to shrivel before its time.

Bright Idea #2: Just not interested in needles and thread? Fabritac is a permanent adhesive designed to use with fabric, lace, leather and trim.
