Hats Off To Felted Sweaters

Felt your sweater. It goes against everything you know about wool, so revel in it!
  1. Wash your sweater in a machine on the hottest water setting and dry on the highest heat. Use soap. The combination of suds, heat and agitation is what turns your loose knit tight.
  2. The consistency of a felted sweater should be dense enough that it won't unravel. Depending on the heat, it may take more than one washing and drying so repeat as needed.
Warning: Felting is irreversible so have your therapist's number on hand…
