For the Guys
So what's going on for the guys in fashion this fall? Clean, clean, clean.
With modern takes on the narrow suits of the ‘40’s and
60’s, ties are making a huge comeback. Plus leather and military
inspired pieces mixed with tailored sport coats and outerwear make
the man.
Jeans
After a very noticeable absence last fall, jeans are back this winter!
- Look for darker washes with less of that really obvious
faded quality.
- Whiskering (the faded creases near the top of the leg)
is still
cool, but denim that looks new or naturally worn in is cooler.
- If you are slim, try a boot cut jean.
- If you are average, try a classic full or straight leg.
- And if you are stocky or muscular you might try a baggy silhouette.
- Pair your jeans with a military boot from the surplus store and
save your sneakers for your suit.
It suits you
A new slimmer suit with flat front pants in a dark color is a great investment
since you can wear the pants and the jacket separately as well as wearing
the whole suit together. They're available at every price point.
- Wear the pants a little longer than your average suit
pant with a button up shirt and V-neck sweater.
- I guarantee more girls will talk to you if you add a tie that is
loosened up at the neck with the collar button undone on the shirt.
Try some
narrow ties in solid black or graphic stripes.
- You can wear the jacket with jeans and a shirt and loose tie.
- Or try a turtleneck. They're cut a little closer than the 60's
original so they have the same sort of appeal as a t-shirt.
- Wear the whole suit together for dressy occasions but keep
it loose by wearing a thermal or t-shirt.
- And yes, sneakers. A clean pair of old school classics
in the same tone as your suit is the winning combination.
Easy rider
Add the freshest jacket shape to close the deal.
- A motorcycle jacket goes well with jeans and sweaters.
- A parka in nylon or a wool pea coat is great over your sport coat
or suit.
