Shine On!
By Carra Gamberdella
Intro | No Sand Required | Tote à Tote | Wrap It Up

No Sand Required
Wearing flip-flops around your pad may remind you of warmer days, even though the beach is just a memory. And if you accessorize with some summery beads, all the warmer, baby!

What you’ll need:

    Tapestry needle
    Hemp thread
    Cheap plastic flip-flops
    Large beads
Flip Flops

  1. Start by threading the tapestry needle. Tie one end with a double knot.
  2. Carefully push the needle from the underside of a flip-flop strap and pull it through. Tie a knot to hold it in place.
  3. String on enough beads to cover the length of the strap. I used wooden beads, but check out all the other options at a craft store.
  4. Push the needle through the opposite end of the strap and pull it tight.
  5. Tie off this end with a knot.
  6. Repeat this process for the other flip-flop strap, and then for the other flip-flop.

Not only will you look like you’re ready for the beach, but you’ll feel it, too. And when the gloom of winter has got you down, that’s the best state of mind to be in!
