How to knit
There are many different types of stitches. The knit stitch is the foundation
for all of them.
- Hold the needle that has the stitches on it in your left
hand and the other needle in your right hand.
- Insert the point of the right needle upwards through
the top loop on the left needle so that the two needles criss cross,
the right one behind, to form an X shape.

 |
- While in that X, pick
up the strand of yarn that runs to the ball and
wrap it around the right needle once, counter clockwise.
- Then, insert the tip
of the right needle back down, through this new
loop and pull the right needle up to transfer the stitch
to onto the right needle.
- Continue to do this until all the loops are transferred
from the left needle to the right needle.
