Be Loved For Who You Are
“Even
when you're at the top you never stop comparing yourself and being dissatisfied
with your image,” says Ana. Virginia expresses that “modeling
probably wouldn't be an occupation I would suggest to a young girl today,
merely because of all of the false emotion and ideas that are placed
on women that only lead to self destructive behavior. I still enjoy modeling
part-time, but my reasons for pursuing it have been to share a healthy
perspective and to encourage girls to seek out spirituality and education
before seeking to perfect the exterior which will one day pass away.”
It's not fair and life is too short. After reading this, if you still
decide that being you just the way you are is not enough, think about
this. If what you are trying to achieve is not healthy and natural, how
many years of your life do you plan to spend fighting your body? Remember,
once you achieve it you must maintain it, and that may be a lot of time
spent feeling hungry, missing out on family and friends, and feeling
sick. Once you're there will you ever wonder if people really love you
for you, or just your body and image?
