Recordings
Her increasing popularity brought her to the attention of Interscope Records.
Interscope gave her a two-song demo deal. Unfortunately, her record deal
fell through so she decided to release the CD on her own. “I am
proud and happy to be releasing this on my own after not getting that
record deal,” she states.
Her songs are simple, catchy tunes that stay with you. Her charm, quirkiness
and sense of humor are evident by her song titles: "Jesus at the
Hardware Store," “Tenderness Versus Watering the Lawn Backwards,” “Ron's
Appliance,” "Jerk-a-lator," and others. My favorite is "The
Seamstress," an autobiographical song featuring a sewing machine
and box of pins as accompaniment. Be sure to notice the tin can tiara
she’s wearing on the CD cover!
If you’re trying recapture your lost innocence, my advice is to
use Shari Elf as role model. She’ll at least make you smile.
