The Porcelain Goddess | Take
Aim | You're Flush
Water, Water Everywhere...
The first thing you are going to do is get rid of the water in the
bowl. All of that water serves no purpose except to dilute your cleanser
and make you use 4 times as much as you need. Take your handy q-tip
brush and push the water out of the bowl in a plunging motion. The
trap at the bottom of your toilet has a hump behind it like a sideways
's' that drops right down into the sewer. All you do is start pushing
the water over that hump with the cotton puff. Eventually you will
be able to remove all but about a cup of water. After you push most
of the water out, leave the cotton puff in the bowl to block the opening
into the sewer. One of the reasons toilets keep water in the bowl
is to keep the sewer gasses from rising out of the plumbing and into
your home. Keep the puff in there to block them from getting out.
Now the cleanser
Spray a small amount of your liquid bowl cleanser in the toilet.
Just about a quarter of a cup will be plenty. The bottle may say
to use a cup or two but that is just because most people do not
remove the water, which dilutes the cleanser. By removing the water,
we are using full power, baby. Take your little puff, which is now
saturated with your cleanser, and swab the inside of the bowl...
especially under the rim. You can't see this but if your bathroom
has a smell that won't go away, don't blame Uncle Charlie. It may
be the accumulated gunk hidden under the rim.
Now we wait
This is the time that the maid uses to change the beds, wipe down
the mirrors, sink, and tub, etc. She finishes these tasks in about
10-15 minutes so you should find something to amuse yourself for
at least 10 minutes while the cleanser does its work. When the time
is up, swab again. Most of that ring around the water's edge will
slip right off now. If it doesn't, swab and wait for another ten.
Then swab again. The full strength cleanser should start lifting
away the grime. You don't need to scrub.
Flush
Don't leave the puff in the drain but hold it in the water so it
gets rinsed along with the bowl. Then, swab the bowl with the rinse
water and swish your brush around to rinse it out. Flush again and
tap the puff on the edge of the bowl to shake the water out.
Outside
Now take one of your antiseptic hand wipes and wipe the seat, rim,
and outside of the bowl. The back of the tank and the handle are
best cleaned with any glass cleaner or good ol' vinegar.
