Who would've thought you could experience camp as an adult and learn a new trick like snowboarding at the same time! OK, so it's pretty different from the camps you might remember as a kid with shared bathrooms, bunk beds, and flashlights, but I'd consider it "camp" all the same. You've got your scheduled activities, camp "counselors", and lots of bumps and bruises.
I'm pretty new to the sport of snowboarding, but this was something I just really wanted to be decent at. In my late twenties, I felt pretty intimidated surrounded by 13-year olds linking turns and catching air on the first day of the lesson. And never mind the fact that snowboarding is known to be a short-learning curve sport, I needed an extended program that was really going to help me out instead of the usual one or two day lesson. Hence, I headed for High Cascade Snowboard Camp (HCSC) taught at Bend, Oregon's Mt. Bachelor.
