Give it up for Mom! For all she does each and every day to make your life great, muster some muscle of mind and do something thoughtful to say "Thanks" this Mother's Day.
Flower Power
Save a bunch on flowers by arranging them yourself and you'll come out smelling like a rose.
Stop at the grocery store or flower shop and pick up a cheap bouquet with some of Mom's favorite flowers. Or pick some from your garden. If you've got any blooming trees in your yard, clip a couple small branches with buds to add to your arrangement.
Use a vase you already have laying around the house or get creative with your container. Use a coffee can or fish bowl, pretty jar or ice bucket.
Fill the bottom of a glass vase with marbles, fruit, seashells or rocks. Lemons and limes, grapes or cherry tomatoes or kumquats all help add color and class to make your arrangement spectacular. Use just one or several together.
Pull your store bought bouquet apart and start arranging the flowers in your vase. Don't be afraid to trim them down with scissors or peel the leaves off to make more open space. Once the flowers are all in, you can add the greenery as filler. But don't go overboard. You don't have to use it all.
Plant One On Her
Give the gift that keeps on giving! Mom's fave plant. Or a beautiful orchid! They look fancy, but you can pick one up for less than $15 at the grocery store, nursery or Trader Joe's. They even come in their own container! Go crazy and decorate it with paint or markers. Or even declare your love, admiration and thanks with a simple little note written right on the pot.
