Props For Pops
by Tana March

Turf's Up | Road Trip | Horseshoes, Anyone?

Shopping for Dad got you down? If your Pops is hard to buy for, fear no more! Show him how much you appreciate him this Father's Day with a heartfelt Thank You from this list.

Get Out, Get on Out
Surely there's something Dear Old Dad yearns to do in his free time. Is there a golf course he's been wanting to play? A new racetrack in town? A hidden trailhead he noticed on the way home from his last business trip? Take him! There's no better way to celebrate your parent than being with him.

  • Go on a road trip.
  • Go fishing. And YOU clean the fish!
  • And BBQ them.
  • Baseball, Baseball, Baseball.

Turf's Up
If your Dad's a golf enthusiast (and who isn't these days), get him something he can really use. A putting green he grows himself! A decorated by you pot, some dirt, some grass seed and a little shovel are all he needs to tend to his garden and his short game. Call your Dad's favorite course and see if you can buy a plug as a starter. Better yet, let the Masters rub off on Dad's game by buying one from the big boys at Augusta, Torrey Pines or Pebble Beach.

Lure Him In
Make your Dad a keychain! Just snip the hook off of a fishing lure and attach a cheap metal key ring! Simple and snazzy.

Bullseye
Finally a tie rack that hits its mark. Just paint up a scrap piece of wood to look like a dart board. Drill pilot (starter) holes and push in a few darts! Put a picture hanger on the back and you're right on target.
