Flower power
Moms like flowers, but store-bought roses, carnations, tulips, etc. die before
you can say, “Happy Mother’s Day.” Annuals, however, come
back year after year. With the right choices and some tender loving care,
your mom will be reminded yearly of what a perfect child she raised!
Start with a book like Annuals
for Dummies. (No offense. I’m just trying to keep it simple.)
Learn the basics on how to choose which annuals are right for your
mom’s location. There are also some great websites to get you
in the gardening mood, including Garden
Guides. Here, you’ll learn more about planting annuals. On Garden
Web, you can ask other gardeners your pressing annuals questions.
From here, you have two options. First, you can surprise your mom by
planting the garden for her. Your second choice is to gather all the
materials that mom will need, including bulbs, shovel, gloves, soil,
etc., so that she can get down and dirty in the backyard. It’s
up to you. You can even start planting the garden for mom and leave her
the second half to finish. Or plant the garden together for some priceless
mother-child bonding time.
What a thoughtful and fragrant way to show you care! |
