Heal me, Amen

The Word | The Steps | More Steps

Okay, I admit it; I was an Alternative Evangelist. Yep, maybe you know one. We are the zealous converts to the faith of alternative medicines. We believe everything we read in praise of herbal remedies and modalities (if you were one of us you'd know that's a fancy word for practices). We often believe we have nearly all the answers and proudly proselytize to anyone who'll listen... and often to those who don't. But don't be too hard on us; our hearts are in the right place. We have just let our desire for self-empowerment and open-mindedness go unchecked. It's easy to do these days, when alternative medicines are flooding the health and beauty markets and hype is billed as help.

Fear not. Those who would naively accept the word of marketers as gospel, open your eyes! Truth is never delivered to us on a proverbial silver platter; we have to search for it -- go in quest of the Holy Grail, talk to sages and then experience the truth ourselves. There is work involved in taking responsibility for your health and well being and exploring new territory, but the rewards are worth it.
