Rhymes With Chads
by Tana March

No doubt you've heard about Nads on TV. That "secret" recipe for silky smooth legs without shaving or wax? Guess what? There's nothing clandestine about it! This new miracle is called Sugaring and has existed since Ancient Egyptian times (1570 - 1075 BC)! So keep your $29.99 plus shipping and handling and try this at home for soft silken skin to rival Cleopatra!

What You'll Need:
Juice of 1/2 a lemon
1-cup sugar
1/4-cup honey
Cornstarch
Butter knife
Cotton Fabric

  • Mix lemon, sugar and honey in a bowl. Microwave on high for two minutes. Stir. Microwave on high for 20 - 30 more seconds, until bubbling.
  • Let cool to the touch.
  • Make sure leg or area to be "stripped" is clean and dry, then dust with cornstarch. This will clear your skin of excess oils so the sugar will stick.
  • Spread a thin layer of the mixture onto your leg. Cover it with a strip of fabric and rub it a few times in the direction your hair grows.
  • Now, pull your skin taut, take a deep breath and pull the fabric quickly against the direction your hair grows.
  • Continue on, one strip at a time until your legs are smooth-a-licious.
  • Reheat your mixture if necessary.
Don't get me wrong, this will hurt! You might even get a little rash the first time (of course that's what happens when you pull out an entire strip of hair at the roots!). But you'll get used to it. The payoff is in the results. It'll last you an entire month.

Bright Idea: Use tongue depressors or Popsicle sticks instead of a butter knife to spread it on.
Bright Idea: Use any old fabric: old t-shirts, rags, sheets, whatever you have lying around. Throw them in the wash and recycle them!
