Making it special
Were you the type to put stickers on your locker, make handmade gifts for birthdays, invent new recipes, or otherwise set yourself apart from others through creativity? If you're not ready to have your blog be just like everyone else's, there are many ways to do it up with personality.

Add a hit counter
Try sites like Freelogs to get a free counter, which will tell you how many times someone has read your page.

Are you an HTML guru?
If not, do you know one? Some blog sites allow you to create your own page layouts in HTML. Others have toolbars that help you look like you know how to code, but they are actually no harder than highlighting text and clicking a button.

Keep a running theme
Many blog sites have sections for you to fill in your mood and what music you're listening to when you post. You can make your own and include it with your post, such as how much you've eaten that day (Bridget Jones-style), a to-do list, a quote of the day, a random fact, etc. The savvier bloggers can usually add images to their text, but remember: copying your art is just a right-click away for some people. If you value your creations, you may not want to have them on your blog for surfers to steal.
