Parties with
a purpose
Fayetteville, Arkansas has organized the Earth
Day Bicycle Ride, encouraging people to celebrate “the
simple transport” and enjoy the weather with a people-
and planet-healthy alternative to driving a car. EarthFest
2004 in Cleveland is featuring entertainment, activities
for kids, and other eco-friendly fun. St. Louis, Missouri
has a pretty full calendar
of events, as does the state of Colorado.
It wouldn’t be a holiday without sales and deals, of
course. And we’re not talking a white sale… check
out companies like HP, who are doubling
store credit if you recycle your PCs or computer parts
with them this Earth Day.
And this is merely a sampling of how you can spend your Earth
Day (or the days near it). It’s easy to find something
to do in your area to celebrate. A large list can be located
here
and a solid collection of current related articles (with both
information and activities) here,
but you can also check your local newspaper or do a quick
search
online for “Earth Day” and your area/state.
And bring your friends; to these parties, everyone’s
invited.
